| Bala heads Learning function at Reliance Industries Ltd – focusing on the launch of their latest foray into 4G broadband communications business. Bala has successfully managed the talent transformation for the launch of speciality formats within Reliance Retail as well as some of their joint ventures such as Apple Inc, Hamleys etc. Bala was also responsible in a similar role for the successful launch of Reliance Infocomm, the venture that ushered in the Telecom revolution in India, during which time NIS Sparta was acquired by Reliance. |

| Prior to his time with Reliance, Bala was with Amway in India as their Zonal Business Head, where he turned around the market reputation and retail penetration for the leader of multi-level marketing. As an Operations Marketing member, Bala helped achieve brand and volume leadership for Coca-Cola India with his initiatives in training, merchandising efforts (ITMO) and innovative motivation programs and job aids for the bottlers. He demonstrated leadership through application of quality processes, trade partner, trade marketing and training for Whirlpool during its inception in India. Additionally, he was a member of the original think-tank that executed the launch of a soft skills learning company – with prime responsibility for the corporate sector – under the brand name of NIS for NIIT India. Bala honed his skills in people management, channel partner management and retailing skills as a regional business head for Luxor (Gillette) Pen Co. |
