Patrick Dorais brings with him over 20 years of international sales and marketing experience, entirely consumer-related, both from a retail operator and supplier-side perspective. He has gained extensive knowledge of the food industry working for top-name blue-chips companies, predominantly in the confectionery industry.
After obtaining his Bachelor of Arts (Economics) at York University’s Glendon College, in Toronto, Canada and completing training as Shopping Center Manager with Cadillac Fairview, Dorais started his long-standing international career gaining invaluable retail experience with Swiss conglomerate Manor AG / Maus Freres SA in 1991. Before joining Al Nassma Chocolate LLC as Director of Sales in 2012, he was assigned to the position as Commercial Director at Chocolats et Cacaos Favarger in Geneva. Further milestones of his career are roles as Global Sales Manager Duty Free & Travel Retail at Kraft Foods, Regional Sales Manager at Nestle International Travel Retail based in Switzerland, Regional Marketing and Sales Director at Perfetti van Melle Middle East and Vice President Business Development at Al Ghurair Foods. Dorais developed a profound specialist knowledge of the European (incl. Nordic countries), Middle Eastern and Asian markets.
In addition, Dorais was elected in 2014 (and further re-elected in 2016 and again in 2018) into the Tax Free World Association’s Management Committee (Marketing Subcommittee) representing the Confectionery and Fine Foods category in promoting the interests of the 75B US$ global duty free / travel retail industry. Dorais’ sound understanding of management and motivation of third-party distribution partners, as well as his first-hand experience in the duty free & travel retail channels of distribution and export sales into more than 80+ countries make him an exceptional expert in international retail sales landscapes.
